A centrally located ( 85 seat) well equipped tiered theatre, with a 36 square metre stage; just 7 minutes from Oval tube (straight up Camberwell New Road ) and well served by buses
The Golden Goose boasts a dedicated theatre bar on the ground floor level with wheelchair access and a disabled toilet. The space enjoys state-of-the-art sound proofing ( no noise from the bar) and is air-conditioned. We enjoy good audience numbers (and industry attendance ) because of the comfort and location of the venue.

The theatre space is located on the 1st floor. Get in access is through the main pub. Larger back entrance for larger set elements.
Bringing your show to our venue
We will advise on how to realise your project from it’s early stages to opening night.
Founder and Artistic Director Michael Kingsbury’s production experience encompasses fringe, number one touring, and west end and he lectures on ‘How to Put On Show’ at leading drama schools including RADA and E.15. Michael sits on the board of The Society Of independent theatres along with The new Diarama, The Finborough and Pleasance Theatre.
Launching a show can be challenging which is why we like to advise and support companies to create and develop their work at all stages of the production's evolution.
We will assist you with pre-production to the opening night and beyond. Our team will advise on your marketing campaign and actively promote your show via our social media channels and local database. You will also have access to our press list which boasts over 2000 press contacts on.
We also offer free space for longer runs and low rentals for shorter ones.
We mostly programme new work (whether script-based or devised) physical theatre and occasional revivals. Whether it’s a small production or a comedy night, we are the perfect spot for any event.
We are proud to provide state-of-the-art technology and equipment, making us the perfect venue for any occasion.
